R & D activities illustrate the basic philosophy of the Company and represent the motor of its growth . For maximal efficiency specific research targets have been identified in areas of   high company expertise and know-how . Internal R & D activities are supported by collaboration in basic research with public institutions and in advanced stages of development with other private companies

Pierre Fabre R&D 's mission is to discover and develop original compounds obtained by chemical synthesis or from biological sources .1500 people split between 12 specialised sites in France and Spain are active in developing innovative therapeutic solutions in response to major problems in public health in the area of drugs and in the area of dermo-cosmetic preparations.

The Pierre Fabre Research Institute manages jointly all R&D activities within the Pierre Fabre group, with their dual orientation :

Drugs, for prescription and O.T.C.
Dermo-cosmetic products

This transversal type of organization is designed to base the whole  R&D  effort :

On identical standards in terms of  scientific rigor and product quality
 synergic  management of resources

for consistency and coherence in company objectives.
