Castres Olympique : champions !
June 3, 2013
Last Saturday, the Castres Olympique players won the final of the TOP 14. Twenty years after their last title, they were victorious at the Stade de France, beating the Rugby Club Toulonnais with a score of 19-14.
Before 10,000 local supporters who had made the journey from Castres to Paris, the rugby players of the Tarn area in Southwest France defied the odds and beat the European champions.
Players and directors were keen to share a jubilant moment with all of the supporters, and consequently 18,000 people gathered together on Sunday at the Pierre Antoine stadium to celebrate the winners and admire the Brennus Shield. This is because the life of Castres Olympique is very closely linked to the town and our company. As one of the Club’s long-standing historical partners, our Group, and in particular Mr Pierre Fabre, greatly contributed to its development and success.
As Mr Pierre Fabre has always maintained: Supporting the rugby in Castres means participating in the town’s dynamism, increasing its value, spreading its reputation, and also giving our employees, and beyond that, the town’s inhabitants, a feeling of belonging and a reason to be proud.
Castres Olympique’s triumph also rewards perseverance, passion, team spirit and creativity. These are values that Mr Pierre Fabre always wanted to promote, and which have revealed themselves to be all the more precious, as our club has proven its worth before competitors with resources far greater than our own.
