Pierre fabre becomes the first pharmaceutical laboratory to be granted afaq 26000 and receives the “confirmed” level

AFNOR Certification has announced that Pierre Fabre Laboratories has become the first pharmaceutical laboratory and the first company with over 10,000 employees to be granted AFAQ 26000, which evaluates a company's social responsibility.

AFAQ 26000 is a voluntary evaluation procedure developed by AFNOR Certification, which allows organizations to measure their level of maturity in terms of social responsibility. AFAQ 26000 is based on the international ISO 26000 standard, the first and only international CSR standard.

Pierre Fabre Laboratories achieved a score of 624 out of 1,000, which is the “Confirmed” level, ranking the company at number 3 out of the 4 levels that are included in the evaluation. The audit conducted by AFNOR Certification took place over two weeks, during which time the evaluators met with over 80 employees from the company, representing every field, from headquarters to R&D sites, production sites and within the affiliates. Representatives for stakeholders were also interviewed. In its report, AFNOR Certification underlined the company's strong points in terms of the eight main evaluation criteria, but also the points to improve, which will help the company to consolidate its CSR policy over the years to come. A follow-up evaluation will be conducted during the last quarter of 2013, then a renewal evaluation will be done during the first quarter of 2015.

Through this evaluation conducted by an independent organization and the attribution of the “Confirmed” level during its first evaluation, the panel recognized the effort made over the last 50 years by Pierre Fabre Laboratories and the desire for exemplarity expressed by its founding Chief Executive Officer.
