Pierre Fabre joins in the fight against malnutrition in Madagascar

March 24, 2015

Our Madagascar subsidiary, in partnership with the National Nutrition Office, is contributing to the national operation to fight malnutrition.

The Ministry of Health and the National Nutrition Office in Madagascar have launched a national operation to combat malnutrition. For 80% of children who get school meals, this is their only meal of the day. Our Madagascar subsidiary has chosen to participate in this operation by assisting a primary school with 596 children, helping to finance:

  • the creation of resources for lessons on health and nutrition
  • the distribution of fruits and vegetables
  • the construction of a cafeteria
  • the planting and maintenance of a garden by 320 pupil parents, to supply the lunchroom

To fund these actions, our subsidiary gives 5% of profits from sales of centella asiatica, a plant harvested near the school which benefits from this program.
