Pierre Fabre Oncologie supports the Leucémie Espoir Paris Ile de France association
October 11, 2013
With the support of Pierre Fabre Oncologie, the Leucémie Espoir Paris Ile de France association will soon equip four hospital departments with exercise bikes for patients suffering from leukaemia.
The provision of the bikes (in particular in haematology and onco-haematology departments, which are protected areas) will allow patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatments to maintain their muscle mass and help them keep up a good morale.
Since the very beginning, Pierre Fabre Oncologie has actively developed a partnership policy on research and support for patients during treatment.
According to Dominique Gougeon, director of Pierre Fabre Oncologie France,
support for patients during treatment and the service provided to patients and health care professionals have always been among Pierre Fabre Oncologie's missions.
This project is consistent with all of the actions put in place by the Leucémie Espoir Paris Ile de France association in order to improve the day-to-day life of patients suffering from leukaemia and to defeat the illness.
Created in September 2009, the role of the Leucémie Espoir Paris Ile de France association is to support patients throughout a complex and difficult course of care, finance scientific research programmes and those on improving therapeutic treatments, and raise awareness among doctors, schoolchildren and the general public.
