Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women1, with more than 2 million new cases reported each year worldwide.2  It accounts for 1 in 4 annual cancer cases globally.1 Breast cancer is the leading cause of death by cancer in women.2   Although more frequent after age 50, breast cancer can also occur in younger patients.1 Also, even though most breast cancer cases occur in women, it can also occur in men (around 1% of cases).3  Importance of early detection  Early detection is essential. The earlier a cancer is detected, the better the chances of curing it. It is important that you are familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel and you should report any changes to your health care provider right away.  The most common symptoms of breast cancer are changes in the breasts, the lump in the breast being the most common, but not the only one.3  Signs that should alert women and men:3  A lump in the breast  Change in the size or shape of the breast  Dimpling of the skin or thickening in the breast tissue  An inverted nipple  Rash on the nipple  Discharge from the nipple  Swelling or a lump in the armpit  Pain or discomfort in the breast that doesn’t go away  Skin redness  Skin thickening  In most cases, breast cancer is asymptomatic. Getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to detect breast cancer early. Check with your doctor if you are eligible and get information about screening frequency. 4,5         How to do self-examination?4 

In 2023, we have chosen to tell you a shared story through our annual report: that of a Group convinced that “Taking care of you helps us advance,” and which places this conviction at the heart of its action.     Divided into three chapters, this report first reviews the Group’s fundamentals and takes stock of the strategy implemented to take care of everyone and contribute at our level to “making the world a better place” to benefit our patients and consumers.  In the second chapter, (re)discover an overview of our activities, and four stories that depict our daily action “to take care of you”: in terms of innovation, hand in hand with health professionals, patients and consumers, by placing prevention at the heart of our comprehensive approach to care. The first guide to displaying the environmental and societal impact of cosmetics, food supplements, family health and wellness products, available to all companies, from SMEs to major international groups.  - A methodology developed under the aegis of AFNOR by 120 participants from the Green Impact Index Consortium and other organizations, which applies to cosmetic products as well as food supplements, natural health products and generally, to all family health and wellness products (with the exception of medicines).  - Like the Nutriscore, this methodology will enable consumers to choose their cosmetics and wellness products based on scores from A to E with full knowledge of what goes into the scores. June 30, 2023 – A major first for the cosmetics, perfume and nutraceuticals sectors: in just 9 months, 120 participants from 26 different organizations (from VSEs to major international groups, as well as suppliers, independent consultancies and an academic body), including members of the Green Impact Index Consortium, have worked collectively under the aegis of AFNOR to co-construct a methodology for calculating and displaying the environmental and societal impact of cosmetics, wellness and family health products. This tool is designed for all companies, from SMEs to large international groups.
