UKRAINE – THE PIERRE FABRE FOUNDATION AND THE GROUP ARE TAKING ACTION TO SUPPORT REFUGEES
10 March 2022
For the past two weeks, Ukraine has been coping with a tragic political and humanitarian situation. The Pierre Fabre Group commends the outstanding bravery of the Ukrainian people in the face of this ordeal, expresses its solidarity with all victims of the conflict and gives its unconditional support to all efforts to bring peace to the region.
The Pierre Fabre Foundation has made available an initial amount of 100,000 euros to support displaced civilians and refugees, most of whom are women and children. This sum will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross to support the work it is doing in Ukraine, to repair vital infrastructure, supply health facilities with medicines and equipment, and provide families with food and hygiene products.
Over 7 metric tons of hygiene and care products have also been set aside at our international distribution center in Muret (Haute-Garonne) and will be donated to associations and organizations that provide assistance to refugees:
- At the Ukrainian borders, in Poland and Slovakia, two countries in which we rely on the precious support of our local subsidiaries to help us determine where our donations will be most useful;
- Through associations that provide assistance to Ukrainians arriving in France, especially in the Tarn region and in Toulouse, which has been twinned with Kyiv for nearly 50 years.
With regard to medicines, our donations are made via the humanitarian association Tulipe. Founded in 1982, Tulipe has the status of a pharmaceutical institution, enabling it to manage shipments of drugs and medical equipment to groups of people affected by natural disasters or armed conflicts as efficiently and reliably as possible.
