Listening to patients
At Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, we are guided by a firm belief: listening to patients and consumers is key to developing effective treatments and care products.
We have always stood by our dual expertise in pharmaceuticals and dermo-cosmetics, which enables us to provide comprehensive care built around three pillars: prevention, treatment and patient support.

Working with patient associations
Laboratoires Pierre Fabre works closely with patient associations.
Patient associations provide psychological and practical support to patients and their loved ones. They also speak for patients before health authorities, the medical community and pharmaceutical companies. From product development through the care pathway, these associations help us ensure that patient needs always guide our actions. In addition, Laboratoires Pierre Fabre is committed to full transparency in its relations with patient associations. The company therefore publishes the full list of associations it supports, including all grants, donations and sponsorships.
Epidemiological studies to better understand patients
To develop the best solutions, Laboratoires Pierre Fabre conducts international epidemiological studies directly with patients and consumers, giving them the opportunity to express their needs and expectations.
The ALL study: toward a comprehensive understanding of skin diseases
Launched at the end of 2022, the ALL project aims to create the largest international database on skin types, skin diseases and phototypes. With 50,552 participants in 20 countries, representing more than 50% of the world’s population, the study explores disease prevalence, behaviors and the needs of patients living with skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne or vitiligo.
The SAFE study: understanding and improving sun protection
The SAFE study was conducted with more than 8,000 adults in 7 countries, during the summer period in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United States, and in January in Brazil and Australia. The results show that sun protection guidance is often overlooked, with only 13.1% of adults applying sun protection correctly. These findings highlight the importance of continuing prevention campaigns to raise greater awareness of regular sunscreen use.
The ASKHER2 study: understanding the concerns of women with HER2+ breast cancer
The ASKHER2 survey is a European study that explores the perceptions of women with HER2-positive breast cancer (HER2+). It aims to understand their fears about cancer recurrence, their willingness to make lifestyle changes to reduce this risk, and their desire to be involved in medical decisions. Many women remain uncertain about their risk of recurrence, which affects their treatment and care choices.
Taking action to prevent disease
Laboratoires Pierre Fabre are actively committed to prevention through initiatives at both global and local levels.
Preventing melanoma
Each year, more than 300,000 new cases of melanoma are identified worldwide. Every year, Laboratoires Pierre Fabre run a wide-reaching awareness campaign on visible skin warning signs and the importance of dermatologist screening.
Raising awareness of colorectal cancer
Colorectal cancer (CRC), the second deadliest cancer worldwide, is the focus of many awareness initiatives supported by Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, notably through “Blue March”, an annual campaign conducted in the month of March on social media.
Supporting patients living with rare diseases
The company develops specific content in collaboration with patient associations for patients and their loved ones, especially for those living with ichthyosis, infantile hemangioma, XLHED or a rare lymphoma, EBV+ PTLD.
By developing tools dedicated to these little-known diseases, we are committed to making the care pathway easier and improving patient support.
Holistic support in oncology
Laboratoires Pierre Fabre combine innovation in medicine development with the management of side effects associated with various treatments. Its complementary product ranges contribute to alleviating many side effects of anticancer treatments, whether they affect the skin, hair, or oral health.
