Environmental performance
We innovate to protect our ecosystems and reduce our carbon footprint. The progress we are making in product eco-design helps reduce our environmental impact. We also work with our local communities and support sustainable agriculture.

Carbon, energy, water: act better
Beyond reducing our environmental footprint, we are also adapting our activities to climate change. We are committed to helping achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and to setting a net-zero pathway.
- -15% in water withdrawals by 2030, compared with 2024.
- -46% in CO2 emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030, compared with 2019.
- 790 ktCO2e sequestered between 2023 and 2030.
To reduce our impact, alongside avoiding and reducing our CO2 emissions, we are rolling out a carbon sequestration plan built on nature-based solutions, including trees, soil and mangroves, across our main sales regions.

Innovate better
At Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, innovation goes hand in hand with respect for living things. Our active ingredients come from organically grown plants or from sustainable sourcing channels. We are developing eco-extraction (Green Native Expression) and the eco-socio-design of our products (Green Impact Index), while recovering value from plant-based co-products. We draw on biomimicry to design innovative care products.
Preserve better
We protect nearly 1,500 plant species in our botanical conservatories and promote agroecology and organic farming. As the first company in our sector to measure our biodiversity footprint using the Global Biodiversity Score, we also take local action through biodiversity surveys at our sites. Committed to preserving water resources, we reduced our water consumption by 9% between 2024 and 2025.
Produce better
Our commitments are aligned with a 1.5°C pathway for scopes 1 and 2 and a well-below 2°C pathway for scope 3 under the SBTi framework (Science Based Targets initiative). We apply an internal carbon tax to our investment projects to support low-energy and efficient technologies. We use 64% renewable energy and recover value from 82% of the waste we produce.
Engage better
The Green Impact Index, an innovative tool developed by Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, has been adopted by other stakeholders through the Green Impact Index Consortium. This enables us to measure and improve the social and environmental impact of our products. We are also reducing the GHG (greenhouse gas) footprint of our digital ecosystem, as illustrated by our Level 2 result under the SIT label (Sustainable IT).
A CSR strategy recognized for many years
Our CSR approach has been audited since 2012. In 2022, we achieved the Exemplary level of AFNOR Certification’s Engagé RSE label, renewed in 2025, thereby contributing to all 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set by the United Nations.
We are extremely proud to have achieved the “Exemplary” level of AFNOR Certification’s Engagé RSE label, which reflects our deep commitment to CSR and confirms our performance.

Klorane Botanical Foundation
Since 1994, the Foundation has supported biodiversity by planting trees and funding agroecological transition projects.
Responsible sourcing
Laboratoires Pierre Fabre develops ethical supply chains in partnership with local producers in Morocco (argan oil) and Burkina Faso (shea butter), contributing to economic development and preserving traditional expertise.
The Avène impluvium
The Avène impluvium is protected by API’A (Association for the Preservation of the Avène Water Impluvium), an association created by Laboratoires Pierre Fabre and local stakeholders to promote sustainable forestry and agriculture.
