Castres, May 5, 2021 - Pierre Fabre announces the establishment of a sustainable partnership with Phenix, a French start-up developing innovative solutions to offer a second life to unsold food and non-food items for the benefit of people in precarious situations. This partnership anticipates the implementation of the French law against waste and for the circular economy (loi AGEC), which from January 1, 2022 will impose a second life on hygiene and childcare products through the donation of unsold goods.

Phenix's mission is to bridge the gap between companies donating products and associations helping people in difficulty. Based on the needs identified by its teams in the field, Phenix takes charge of finding the corresponding products from donor companies.

As a result, an initial operation is underway to deliver nearly 250 pallets of hygiene and skincare products from brands Eau Thermale Avène, A-Derma, Ducray, Klorane, René Furterer, and Ducray brand hydroalcoholic gels, to 12 Phenix partner associations: Banlieues Santé, le Secours Populaire, the Red Cross, les Restos du Cœur, the Food Bank, PHARMA solidaires, etc.

Donations from Pierre Fabre via Phenix will continue throughout the year, and the partnership is set to become a long-term one.

While waste is often seen through the prism of food, it actually affects all the products we buy on a daily basis. To move towards a more sustainable world, we need to move from a linear economy to a circular economy. In this new economy, reuse is encouraged. Pierre Fabre is playing its part in this dynamic by organizing the donation of its unsold products.

Jean Moreau

founder of Phenix

We wanted to be pioneers in implementing the AGEC law. Phenix, with whom we have already collaborated, provides us with the guarantee of perfect traceability. Indeed, it is essential that our donations benefit exclusively families or isolated individuals in precarious situations.

Séverine Roullet-Furnemont

CSR and Sustainable Development Director within the Pierre Fabre Green Mission Division

We received over a hundred pallets of products, at a time when the number of single-parent families in urgent need of hygiene products is exploding. We're delighted to see a group like Pierre Fabre supporting our initiatives to help vulnerable groups. At Banlieues Santé, we see health as a state of mental and physical social well-being, and our approach to public health is very inclusive.

Abdelaali El Badaoui

president and founder of the Banlieues Santé association, the main beneficiary of the operation

In anticipation of the AGEC law, the Pierre Fabre Group is making every effort to optimize its unsold product donations. Work is underway with our production and distribution sites to establish automatic processes for managing product returns and routing them to Phénix for optimal distribution to the associations in demand. this partnership with Phénix perfectly echoes our raison d'être: every time we take care of just one person we make the world a better place
