Established as a salon professional brand in 1957, René Furterer pioneered the philosophy that beautiful hair grows from a healthy scalp. He opened the first spa for hair in Paris, using what he learned about natural ingredients and essential oils early in life.
Driven by his desire to help achieve perfect hair, he applied his expertise and passion for botany to the pursuit of botanically-based products. This vision paved the way for innovations in scalp and hair health for over 60 years and is the foundation for René Furterer’s in-salon scalp treatments and at-home product care.

Rene Furterer’s story takes root in Provence, France. Influenced by his grandmother, he became fascinated with botany at a very young age, inspiring him to develop a method of scalp treatments and massages that would revolutionize hair care. All of his treatments were formulated from 100 natural essential oils and plant extracts, carefully selected for their specific medicinal and aromatic values. This unique philosophy paved the way for natural, rich and custom made hair care products that address specific scalp and hair needs.
