Being environmentally-friendly, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting our communities, while delivering safe and effective products
Since the Group’s inception, we have placed the importance of both corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR), and sustainable development at the heart of our development model. The Green Mission Pierre Fabre approach reflects our eco-friendly and socially responsible commitment to sustainable innovation benefitting both nature and people.
We strongly believe that our economic model, which combines independence, a long-term vision, profitable growth and a responsible approach, creates value for all and is in line with our contribution to overall improved well-being.
Because we are aware of our responsibility, Pierre Fabre Group takes account of the social and environmental impacts of the company's business so as to consider sustainable development in each stage of the product life-cycle - from the fields used to grow our key ingredients to your bathroom.
Since 2012, the Pierre Fabre Group has been committed to an assessment and certification process for our CSR policy as per the principles of international standards (ISO 26000), and was awarded AFAQ 26000 certification in 2015, obtaining the exemplary rating.
The Green Mission Pierre Fabre Department is leading the cross-functional approach that involves both CSR and Sustainable Development, incorporating centers of expertise such as agronomy, botanical expertise, the sourcing and development of innovative plant-based active ingredients, environmental and organic certification processes and ecodesign. This approach is organized into five pillars:
• nature as a source of innovation,
• ethical sourcing,
• a local presence all over the world,
• low environmental impact,
• the meaning of our actions and respect for people.

Limiting our carbon footprint
Limiting our carbon footprint
1. Avoiding the use of solvents
The Pierre Fabre green chemistry experts use environmentally-friendly active ingredient extraction technologies. In 2019, after 8 years of research, the Group is innovating and developing an extraction technology to avoid the use of solvents: Green Native Expression.
2. Reducing our carbon footprint
To reduce the Pierre Fabre Group's environmental footprint throughout the life cycle of our products, we act on two levers:
-
Ecoproduction: reducing our consumption of resources and energy (solar panels, biomass boiler, etc.)
-
Ecodesign and biodegradability: reducing our emissions into the air, water and soil (by 2023 50% of the Group's product catalog will be eco-designed)

Fostering equality and diversity
2023 Gender Equality Index: Pierre Fabre obtains an overall score of 90/100
Each year, before March 1, companies with more than 50 employees must calculate and publish on their website the score obtained in the gender equality index.
This year, the Pierre Fabre group obtained a final score of 90/100.
At Pierre Fabre, we believe that equality between women and men is more than an objective, it is a condition for our success. This is why we are proud today to have achieved perfect parity in the management of our subsidiary within the International BU (13 F/13 M). In France, we have achieved a score of 90/100 on the Gender Equality Index (+1 point compared to last year) which reflects our actions to reduce the pay gap and our ongoing efforts in terms of diversity.
Employment of disabled people
Since 1989, the Pierre Fabre Group has been committed to integrating and employing disabled workers. Every three years, the company's Handi'Cap policy is renegotiated and signed by the social partners. Our employment rate for disabled workers was 6.74% in 2018, compared with the national average of 4%.
Regional and circular economy commitment
Regional and circular economy commitment
Pierre Fabre is all about sharing, about land and people. We see the importance of claiming our identity and being proud of our differences: we have always shown a desire to pool our development with that of the regions in which we are based worldwide and at home, in the Occitanie region of France.
We believe that our commitment to the regions in which we are based contributes to an overall improvement in well-being.
