Pierre Fabre has commissioned ID Logistics to manage a new distribution platform in the Toulouse region to support the international growth of its dermo-cosmetics branch

21 January 2016

Cavaillon, Castres, January 21st, 2016 – ID Logistics and Pierre Fabre announce their plans to create a new distribution platform in Muret (Haute-Garonne) for the pharmaceutical and dermo-cosmetics laboratory. The platform will be managed by the contract logistics group. This infrastructure will build on Pierre Fabre's logistics capacities in order to support the development of its Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics subsidiary abroad. It will be based adjacent to the laboratory's current distribution site.

Constructed in accordance with HQE standards, the new platform will cover a site with a total surface area of 135,000 sqm. Half of the site will be taken up by storage warehouses providing a scalable storage capacity of between 70,000 and 90,000 pallets. The platform will supply dermo-cosmetics and consumer health care products to Pierre Fabre's current site, where these products will continue to be prepared for the French market. The platform will also prepare Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics shipments to international destinations.

By 2017, ID Logistics aims to employ a workforce of 50 to 60 staff at the new site. Recruitment will begin at the end of 2016, to coincide with the anticipated operational start-up of this new platform.

The Pierre Fabre Group's Senior Vice-President for Finance and Operations, Luc Péligry, commented: This new platform will provide Pierre Fabre with logistic capacities to satisfy the needs of its subsidiaries and distributors worldwide. This project falls within the framework of our "Trajectoire 2018" plan, one of the plan's key focuses being the international development of the Dermo-Cosmetics branch. Selecting ID Logistics as our logistics partner will enable us to concentrate on our core business whilst keeping control of our logistics processes and continued operations at our other distribution sites. The decision to establish this new site in Muret, near Toulouse, demonstrates our desire to maintain major links with the Midi-Pyrénées region.

Eric Hémar, CEO of ID Logistics added: We are proud to work on this new project alongside Pierre Fabre, a key player in the dermo-cosmetics and health care market. This promising fruitful collaboration between our two groups consolidates our development in health/pharmaceuticals, a dynamic sector and major new growth engine for ID Logistics in the years to come.
