On course for Rio! Pierre Fabre Oral Care is supporting French windsurfer Pierre Le Coq
14 April 2016
With a winning smile, nerves of steel and his head firmly on his shoulders, Pierre Le Coq is the 2015 RS:X World Windsurfing Champion. With his sights set on gold in Brazil, the athlete is preparing for the Olympic adventure with the support of his sponsors. One of these being Pierre Fabre Oral Care.
Sponsoring a Breton for Rio
The son of the Côtes d’Armor in Brittany and Pierre Fabre Oral Care are working together to defend common values: expertise and technical skill.
Pierre Le Coq will bear the Elgydium Decay Protection logo on his sail throughout 2016, the year of the Olympic Games in Rio where he will compete for France in August. This partnership, which began in 2015, aims to represent the expertise of French oral and dental care on a global scale.
Determination: the key to success
Pierre Le Coq began windsurfing at the age of eight. A few years later, the budding athlete started to train for competitions and developed a taste for it.
During his young career, he has appeared on world-class podiums 7 times, finished as French number one for the 16-18 age group and won the world championship.
Pierre Le Coq has now set himself a dual goal: to complete his studies, following the footsteps of both his parents into dentistry, and ultimately taking the top position on the winner’s podium.
In 2010, he took up the sail again and took on other high-level athletes.
He alternated between competitions, training, and exams at university in Brest, France. From 2011, the athlete climbed the rankings and then, improving his performance, returned to the winner’s podium taking third place in the 2013 European championships. The following year, he achieved second place in the Rio Test Event and completed his final year of studies.
In 2015, he mounted the winner’s podium again in the Rio Test Event becoming world champion in Oman and qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Pierre Le Coq has high hopes for the upcoming games and Pierre Fabre Oral Care is encouraging him in his preparation.
We wish fair winds to Pierre!
