  As they get older, men's risk of facing certain health challenges increases: Cardiovascular diseases, urinary problems, diabetes, cancer, depression... The onset of symptoms may appear to be silent and even if they become more frequent, they may not seem significant. That's why, to mark Men's Health Month, we're launching an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging men over 50 to take care of their health. Did you know? In somes countries (ex: in France), hypertension (high blood pressure) is more common in men than in women over the age of 50.  25% of French people aged 45 to 54 have hypertension, and about 50% are diagnosed (14). The prevalence of type 2 diabetes increases with age and is higher in men than in women of the same age group.In French men aged 45-54, the number of cases is multiplied by a factor of 16 (2).. The probability of having a stroke increases markedly after age 50 in men.Of the 120,000 myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) detected each year, 1/3 occur in people under 60 (3).. Cholesterol :  45% of French men aged 45-54 present an increase in bad LDL cholesterol levels (4). Colorectal cancer: 85-90% of colon cancers occur after age 50, with 610,000 men affected worldwide each year(11). Only 35.4% (in 2021-2022) of French people aged 50 to 74 underwent the recommended screenings (9)... Actinic Keratosis : Actinic keratosis is considered a precursor to cancer, meaning  it has the potential to develop into a cancerous lesion. Chronic exposure to the sun and UV rays is the main factor; however, age, sex, and immunosuppression are also predisposing factors for actinic keratosis, which affects men and the elderly more. Innovative Campaign Focuses on Early Detection and Empowering Education Throughout October 

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women1, with more than 2 million new cases reported each year worldwide.2 It accounts for 1 in 4 annual cancer cases globally.1Breast cancer is the leading cause of death by cancer in women.2  Although more frequent after age 50, breast cancer can also occur in younger patients.1 Also, even though most breast cancer cases occur in women, it can also occur in men (around 1% of cases). 3 Collaboration with Know Your Lemons Foundation In 2025, Pierre Fabre is proud to announce its collaboration with the Know Your Lemons Foundation. This partnership aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection through innovative educational campaigns and resources. Together, we are committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to take proactive steps in their health journey. Importance of early detection  Early detection is essential. The earlier a cancer is detected, the better the chances of curing it. It is important that you are familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel and you should report any changes to your health care provider right away.The most common symptoms of breast cancer are changes in the breasts, the lump in the breast being the most common, but not the only one.3The following signs should alert women and men:3•    A lump in the breast•    Change in the size or shape of the breast•    Dimpling of the skin or thickening in the breast tissue•    An inverted nipple•    Rash on the nipple•    Discharge from the nipple•    Swelling or a lump in the armpit•    Pain or discomfort in the breast that doesn’t go away•    Skin redness•    Skin thickening In most cases, breast cancer is asymptomatic. Getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to detect breast cancer early. Check with your doctor if you are eligible and get information about screening frequency. 4,5
