IRPF and Cancer Bio Santé brought together over 300 innovators at the Oncopole for the DayONE forum
June 24, 2016
Today, the DayONE forum, organized jointly by the Pierre Fabre Research Institute and the Cancer Bio Santé Competitiveness Cluster, brought together more than 300 innovators in oncology, dermatology and onco-dermatology at the Oncopole site in Toulouse.
The DayONE event aimed to identify, bring out and develop innovative projects by biopharmaceutical companies, start-ups and research laboratories (public or private) specialized in oncology in the surrounding area, i.e. Greater West France.
The goal is to catalyze and create new collaborations whose results will benefit future patients.
More than 30 start-ups from different cities in the Greater South-West region (Nantes, Bordeaux, Limoges, Toulouse, Montpellier) presented their projects in the form of “pitches” to a very diverse audience, such as Pierre Fabre Group’s Research and Development teams, academics (INSERM, CNRS), members of the Toulouse Cancer Research Center (CRCT) and the Cancer University Institute of Toulouse (IUCT) as well as organizations seeking to fund innovative projects (Capitole Angels, BPI, Pierre Fabre Fund for Innovation, among others).
Just like the Pierre Fabre Fund for Innovation project set up in early 2016, DayONE is an open innovation initiative that will accelerate the development of new projects currently in the key stages of value creation. We came across some very impressive regional and national projects with which we will certainly consider successful partnerships, said Laurent Audoly, Research and Development Director, Pierre Fabre Pharmaceuticals.
We are extremely involved in supporting activity in our region and the development of the Oncopole and in making Toulouse and all of Greater West France fertile ground for innovative projects in life sciences, added Liberto Yubero, Chairman of the Cancer Bio Santé Competitiveness Cluster.
