The Muret international distribution site celebrates its 40th anniversary
June 25, 2014
Every year, 1 million orders are processed and dispatched from the site in Haute-Garonne which covers all dermo-cosmetic and family healthcare products sold worldwide by Pierre Fabre.
Built in 1974 to the south of Toulouse, Muret is the long-standing distribution center for Pierre Fabre Laboratories. Today it manages the storage and processing of orders and their delivery to customers all over the world for the Group’s Dermo-Cosmetic and Healthcare activities.
With a surface area of 30,000 m², the Muret site stores 50,000 pallets of dermo-cosmetic products and processes 1 million orders annually. It dispatches over 25,000 tonnes of products, i.e. 191 million units, to Group subsidiaries and partners in over 130 countries. In France, over 21,000 tonnes of products are dispatched, i.e. 125 million units to some 20,000 customers of the Group.
The Distribution Center is a pharmaceutical site approved by ANSM, the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (Agence Nationale de Sécurité du Médicament) and has AEO approval (Authorized Economic Operator, for customs security). It is involved in the final part of the Group’s supply chain through:
- reception of finished products coming from production sites
- storage of products
- processing of orders
- dispatch to customers (pharmaceutical dispatchers, pharmacists, hair salons, subsidiaries and distributors, etc.)
